Food-Agritech: Food-agritech, Health-wellness Expos Show Growing Demand For Two Sectors | Surat News

Surat: Three-day Food and Agritech Expo and Health and Wellness Expo organized by Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry were inaugurated at SIECC Sarsana on Saturday. This is the first time when an expo on the subject has been organized and large number of participants are attending from across south Gujarat.
In the expo, over 100 exhibitors participated where food processing equipment, refrigeration appliances, warehousing and cargo handling, food testing laboratory, insurance and finance services details are being shared.
The Food and Agritech Expo was inaugurated by Balavant Patel, chairman of the Surat District Cooperative Bank Ltd. In the event Sanjay Kumar, regional director, National Cooperative Development Corporation and Bhavesh Radadiya, director of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd were present.
On Sunday, Dhartiputra Award function will be organized in which, Parshottam Rupala, Union minister for fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying will hand over the awards to farmers. At the event C K Timbadiya, vice-chancellor of Gujarat Natural Farming Science University, will remain present.
The first of its kind of expo — Health and Wellness Expo — aims to promote the sector in the region.
Attempts are being made to provide a platform for the growth of medical tourism. In the expo, details of availability of various types of medical treatment is being shared with visitors. Details of the use of special skills, modern equipment, robotics and advanced surgery will also be shared.
Over 60 exhibitors are participating in the event where around 20 awareness sessions will be addressed by medical experts. The Health and Wellness Expo was inaugurated by city mayor Daxesh Mavani in the presence of city municipal commissioner Shalini Agarwal.
